i had a super eventful weekend, and it was one of the best weekends of this summer. it’s been a while, so this is going to be epicly long. let us begin this recalling of events.
friday: last day of vbs! :( my 6th graders were such a pleasure and joy for me this week, i’ll never forget the fun times i had with them. they’re so smart and mature for their age, and i wish them the best as they head off to middle school this fall.
after vbs, the gang had trouble deciding what to do because we were planning to watch a movie. we ended up eating lunch at church and chilling for 2 hours before seeing kungfu panda 2. (matt and elliot are scary drivers) i had a free movie ticket, so i got in free hehe. in the theater, there were like…15 people there including us, so as usual, we made so much noise throughout the movie.
we came back to church and had pizza because our classroom won the decoration competition. so i had free lunch, free movie, and a free dinner. so boss.
at the closing ceremony, our class raised the most money for the clean water project for Kenya, and had to submit a counselor to kiss a fish. the kids voted me, but being the nice guy he is, kevin volunteered to take my place. it was so gross watching them kiss the tilapia.
my sister had a couple of friends sleepover that night, and we were watching secretariat. i had my glasses on and had a blanket over me and fell asleep. i woke up saturday morning in the same spot with my glasses and blanket still on. best sleep i’ve gotten all week.
saturday: i drove for the first time outside of my neighborhood! it was quite scary, but now i’m excited to drive more and master this art. i went onto New Hampshire Ave and got scared by a motorcycle driving next to me, but that’s okay because we were safe.
afterwards, i went to the pool for the first time this summer with my sister and her 2 friends. there was no sun at all, but i still got tanner. i didn’t swim at all, because who goes to the pool to swim… my dad and i had many interesting talks sitting pool side, which was fun.
drama practice was pretty cool seeing the new people do DT for the first/second time. i have faith that God will work in our team and bring out facials, even though they’re not completely developed yet. and my squad decided that we’re having a squad outing on wednesday at kentlands which i’m totally excited for! yay drama family <3!
laterrrrrrrr, i was at church for 30 minutes because i had to wait for andrea to have worship practice and i made a half court shot! =) i was so proud of myself. and i also managed to ride the ripstick for 2 seconds! brandon drove andrea, colin and me home to my house (and got lost, because i forgot how to get home) because my family was hosting a bbq. it was a great night of good food, catching fireflies, and catching up. then in a last minute decision, my parents gave me permission to sleepover at andrea’s. yippee!
turns out, brandon left his backpack with his laptop at church, and eric lee brought it home with him. brandon decided to stop by his house and get it so he could use it that night, and andrea and i had the awesome idea of surprising rebecca! so we tiptoed to her door and went in as eric let us in. as soon as she saw us, she gave a rebecca-esque squeal and ran back into her room. it was the most fun i had in a while, and her mom wasn’t even mad at us for showing up at 11 pm. rebecca showed us her stuff animals, and she and eric embarrassed each other by telling funny stories. we ended up talking to rebecca, eric, and mrs. lee for about an hour in their foyer when we finally decided to leave. when we got back to andrea’s, we tried to watch i am number four, but i fell asleep a quarter way into the movie.
sunday: i went to church, and the first thing andrea and i did was go into rebecca’s sunday school room and creep up behind her and make her scream once more. she did her rebecca-esque squeal once more and it made my day.
there were a lot of people at church today for arts night screening, but my family left early to go to PHOOOOOO so i couldn’t stay and get to know them. but i’m planning to go to TG on friday, so maybe i’ll get to know people there.
i manage for our church sunday men’s softball league and today was the first day i attended their games. it was great seeing these older guys play the game that i love, and it made me really want to play. but i’m too young and frail and i’m scared i’m gonna get hurt. so for now, it’s a no.
i commend (not command) you if you got down here and read everything. as you can probably tell, my weekend seemed like it happened in a week. (: that’s your monthly update on crystal’s life! be on the lookout for more.
cool story, bro.
